3D Scanning in New Hampshire

3DScanPost is a 3D scanning service based on the Seacoast of New Hampshire, serving customers worldwide by mail. We scan mechanical parts, prototypes, sculptures and one-off objects and deliver the results as STL and PLY mesh files that open in virtually any CAD, slicer or mesh tool.

Three ways to get scanned

  • Mail it to us. Photograph your part, get a quote, and ship it to us, including a return shipping label in the package. This works from anywhere in the world, and it is how most customers use the service. See how it works.
  • Bring it to us. If you're local, we can arrange for you to come to our Seacoast, NH facility.
  • We come to you. For parts that can't be moved, we can travel to you, up to about one hour of travel time.

What you get

  • Laser scanning with ±0.2mm accuracy for mechanical parts, hard surfaces and reverse engineering, or infrared scanning with full color texture for organic shapes and decorative objects. Read the scan type comparison.
  • STL and PLY files delivered digitally.
  • 2-3 day standard turnaround, or a 24-hour express option for a 30% premium.
  • Screenshots to approve before you pay.

Pricing

Standard scans start at $55 and scale with part complexity and scan time. You always receive a quote after we review your photos, before any work starts. Full details are on the pricing section.

Local questions

What size parts can you scan? From roughly 100mm cubes up to about half the size of a car. If you're not sure, send photos and we'll tell you.

Can you scan shiny or dark parts? Yes. For reflective, transparent or very dark surfaces we can apply a temporary scanning spray that evaporates after scanning.
